Tilt River, Poker Night's Expansion Set: A Playtest for a Local Designer!

Join us at Pandemonium for a special playtest of a game developed by a local designer: Tilt River, Poker Night's Expansion Set! Because this is a playtest, you’re especially welcome if you’re new to board games or a well-weathered hobbyist in the space -- any input is valuable!

Tilt River is for players who enjoy the mind-games and probabilistic gameplay of poker (Texas Hold 'em, specifically) but wish it had a little more surprise and tactical intrigue. If you know anything about Knightmare Chess, you may get an idea of what makes this game special. 

That’s because Tilt River lets you break the rules of poker in an unpredictable (but strategic) way. Players are able -- when it's strategically conducive to do so -- to put themselves into a more vulnerable table position in order to get the chance to change the rules of the game for a single hand. In a game that can already feel solved, it levels the playing field between veterans and new players alike. 

If you feel uncomfortable with bidding as a form of player elimination (and a mechanism itself), the designer has provided rules for a chip-free alternative called Nova Scotia. We will be ready to demo either!

RULES FOR ATTENDING: 

• Proof of vaccination is no longer required. If COVID levels rise, masking will be required. We will make an announcement about this on our website and social media if re-instated. 
• Photos may be taken at events to be used in our social media or promotional materials. Please inform the staff member running the event if you do not want your photo taken.
• Advance online registration is required.
• Anyone not registered in an ongoing event will not be allowed in the event space to maintain capacity limits.
• Food is not allowed in our event space. Drinks are allowed.
