| Required game book for using the Metal, Magic and Lore role-playing game system, the 5th Epoch Engine. Elves, Dwarves, Men and Hilfolk reside in a highly traditional fantasy setting, rebooted with a grittier feel which seemingly combines history with fantasy lore. The Player's Rulebook contains essential information for character creation, the melee combat and magic systems. The 5th Epoch Engine is a percentile-dice based role-playing game system. Characters within the system are both class-less and level-less, advancing their skills by using them, acquiring new skills as they pursue studies in new interests. Characters are quite mortal, increasing the play challenge to focus more on role playing, and less on combat dice during moments of conflict. We have combined the traditional percentile mechanics with newly-invented approaches and rule characteristics to come up with a neo-classical style of game play.
