Learn to Play: Thunder Road: Vendetta

Join us at Pandemonium for a 3-hour, demoed session to learn and play Thunder Road: Vendetta, a game of rolling dice, unreasonable speed, and exploding cars! You’re especially welcome if you’ve never before played hobby board games (and are curious about where to start).

Thunder Road: Vendetta (2-4 players) is built around a two-fold goal: 

1) Make sure one of your three cars makes it to the finish line first, and 
2) Make sure the other players don’t. 

But, as one person on Reddit put it, “you are probably going to lose, and it will probably not be your fault.”

That’s because at its core, Thunder Road: Vendetta is chaos incarnate, and embracing that ethos will help you enjoy the game (or decide if it’s not for you).

It’s not to say that the game lacks mechanisms – far from it. It’s a tactical game of deciding how best to optimize your actions while other players are trying to run you into road obstacles or send their attack helicopters to blow you up. There are interesting choices, but the consequences of those choices are decided by dice. With such randomness, the game is more about the experience of playing and recounting the crazy situations that no one could have predicted when sitting down to race.

RULES FOR ATTENDING: 

• Proof of vaccination is no longer required. If COVID levels rise, masking will be required. We will make an announcement about this on our website and social media if re-instated. 
• Photos may be taken at events to be used in our social media or promotional materials. Please inform the staff member running the event if you do not want your photo taken.
• Advance online registration is required.
• Anyone not registered in an ongoing event will not be allowed in the event space to maintain capacity limits.
• Food is not allowed in our event space. Drinks are allowed.
