Free RPG Day! Masks: A New Generation

Masks is a story-centered, character-driven RPG whose characters are teen superheroes (think Teen Titans, Young Justice, Young Avengers, teen X-Men) trying to prove themselves and figure out who they can be. Masks uses the relatively simple Powered by the Apocalypse (PbtA) system (all you need are two six-sided dice). Kinds of Masks characters-- Playbooks-- are shaped by the stories they tell: the Delinquent wants to defy authority; the Outsider comes from far away and wants to figure out how things work on Earth. The Transformed fears that their powers have made them a monster; the Reformed used to be a teen supervillain (are we sure they're a hero now)? 

It's time for the Homecoming Dance at Theodore Sturgeon High, a public magnet school where all the kids with powers go. Are you on the prom committee? Are you planning to go to the dance? Or to sneak in the back? Either way, there's drama: Betty, the technomancer, and Jake, the most popular kid, have just broken up. No one's sure why. Betty's dad's a chaperone. So is Silverbell, the history teacher, who everyone knows is a werewolf. Rumor has it that Augustine-- the mysterious pop star whose hit was the song of the summer-- might show up, even though it's just a high school dance.  The DJ's already setting up. The sun should be setting. Why is the sky so light? There's an adult hero here, too: what could go wrong?
