Pandemonium is proud to bring back a recurring board game event! Join us for a 3-hour, bi-weekly session, where we’ll learn and play 1-2 light- and medium-weight games from our demo library and also introduce you to some games that might be like them. You’re especially welcomed if you’ve never played board games (or are maybe a little uncertain about where to start). Also, if you want to play any games in our library (or bring your own), this is the event and time to do so (just let the staff member know your plans when you come in).

Tonight’s event will feature two games about using fire for two different fantasy trades. The first is a delightful game about dragons fulfilling various domestic tasks within a quaint, Studio-Ghibli inspired setting. The second is about vikings trying to pillage all the glory they can while Fenrir howls and Ragnarok consume the world. We can check in at the end to see which game was more fierce (hint: it may not be the viking one!).

Flamecraft, the former, is a game that’s about collecting resources and spending them for points in various ways around a shared map. If you like engine-building games but wish they were more interactive, this may be a game for you. Also, if you like the idea of small dragons helping people (and fantasy media-tie-in puns), you’ll probably enjoy this.

Blood Rage, the latter, is about questing for glory in the midst of Ragnarok. It’s part drafting, part area control, part being wowed by minis, and part realizing that sometimes the best way to gain glory is sending your warriors straight to Valhalla (or, put another way, it’s a game where you can win by consistently losing). If that sounds interesting to you, this may be a game you’d enjoy.

Both of these games play up to five, so depending on player count, we can take turns over the three hours. And if we have more than 10 — or we have players cycling in and out and waiting for a table to finish – we can break out Fire Tower, a multi-person-tower-defense game about sending fire to your opponents.

So if you ever wanted to learn these games or just want to spend time with others who like playing games, come on out! And if these aren’t your cup of tea, stay tuned to the calendar and newsletter that will announce our next session.

If you’d rather we meet at a different time OR if there are any board games in our collection you’d like to see us feature, let us know by filling out the Google Form here!
