Join us at Pandemonium for our 3-hour, bi-weekly session to learn and play games! You’re especially welcome if you’ve never before played hobby board games (and are curious about where to start).
If you ever wanted to know what it would be like to raise dragons for peace (rather than war), you might enjoy two of the three games we’ll be demoing tonight: Wyrmspan and Flamecraft. Or, if you’re willing to stretch what Merriam-Webster means when defining domestic as “living near or about human habitations”, we have one other: The Red Dragon Inn. Either way, we’ll have all three out and ready to demo, so join us at the table (or read below) to learn more!
Wyrmspan (2-5 players) is more than just Wingspan with dragons. Wyrmspan builds on the basic game loop of Wingspan – chaining actions tied to specific creatures to generate points – and adds on territory development (dragons live in caves that need to be cleared, first), so if you want to see what made Wingspan so popular – and if you really like dragons – you can’t go wrong trying out this game. Do note that it will probably take most of the evening to finish.
Flamecraft (2-5 players) sees you sending the dragons you might have been recruiting in Wyrmspan off to various shops to work in harmony with human business owners. It’s a competitive worker-placement game at its heart – after all, the player with the most points wins – but what makes this game a little different from others in the genre is that the better you play, the better the game gets for everyone else at the table. If that sounds interesting, do check this one out, but like Wyrmspan, it will probably take most of the evening to finish.
Finally, if you don’t have a lot of time, we will also have The Red Dragon Inn. This game, for 2-6 players, is about trying to be the last adventurer standing at the bacchanal hosted by the titular location. Put simply, the game involves your character trying to out-drink and out-gamble your friends in a spirited, celebratory way (no pun intended). We’ll bring in one of the expansions to increase the player count if needed, so if you’re looking for some lighthearted fun, bring a friend and try this out!
Therefore, if you ever wanted to learn these games or just want to spend time with others who like playing games, come on out! And if dragons aren’t your thing, stay tuned to our Events Calendar for future announcements on what we’ll demo next.
